| Ranthambore
National Park |
The
park is situated at the junction of the Aravali and Vindya mountain
ranges. An artificial lake adds to the beauty of the hill ranges.
A variety of wildlife apart from tiger is found here. Many bird
varieties including crested serpent eagle and water birds are
also found here. Another important feature is a thousand year
old fort which rises 214 m above sea level

| Corbett
National Park |
Named
after the famous hunter and naturalist Jim Corbett, the park
is situated at the foothills of the Shiwalik range. Ramganga,
a tributary to the Ganges flows through the park and forms
a number of pools. The park also has several species of birds.

520 sq km ,
Best season: Feb - May, closed mid Jun -mid Nov,
Forest type: Tropical dry deciduous.,
Main wildlife: Tiger, elephant, panther, sloth bear, nilgai,
sambar, chital, wild boar, porcupine, four horned antelope.

National Park |
the park is situated among sal, bamboo forest and open grass
lands. The park has a very good congregation of birds.
Area:
449 sq km ,
Best Season: Feb - Jun (the park is open from November 1
each year and closes for the monsoon early in July),
Forest Type: Subtropical forest.,
Main Wildlife: Tiger, panther, gaur, chital, sambar,

| Kanha
National Park |
the park is renowned for the conservation of swamp deer whose
population in india has steadily increased since 1960. The park
also comes under Project Tiger. The forest has beautiful scenery
with meadows, plateaus and bamboo bushes.
Area:
940 sq km., Best season: Feb-Jun (closed Jul-Nov),
Forest Type: Tropical deciduous
Main Wildlife: Tiger, panther, gaur, barasingha,
chital, sambar, blackbuck, barking deer, mouse deer, nilgai,
wild dog, boar.

| Keoladeo
Ghana National Park |
formerly known as Bharatpur Sanctuary, it is renowned all over
the world as one of he finest heronries. The park is formed
around a fresh water shallow marsh with surrounding scrub and
thorn. It is estimated that about 30,000 chicks are produced
from about ,000 nests that could be found here during the breeding
season.
Area:
28 sq km,
Best Season: Open throughout the year.,
Forest Type: Fresh-water marsh land, scrub, thorn and mixed
deciduous.,
Main Wildlife: waterfowl, blackbuck, chital, nilgai, sambar,
fishing cat, jungle cat and mongoose.

| Mudumalai
Sanctuary |
the sanctuary is situated among mixed and moist deciduous forests.
The picturesque Mysore-Udagamandlam road passes through this
sanctuary. It borders Bandipur National Park in Karnataka and
Wynad Sanctuary of Kerala.

321 Sq Km.,
Best Season: March- June & September - October,
Forest Type: Tropical semi evergreen, tropical moist deciduous
and tropical dry deciduous.,
Main Wildlife: Elephant, Gaur, chital, sambar, tiger,
panther, sloth bear, wild dog.

National Park & Tiger Reserve |
this
park has one of the best road systems among Indian parks and
provides very good chances for viewing wildlife and enjoying
the beauty of the landscape.

874 Sq Km.,

round the year),
Forest Type: Tropical Moist, tropical dry deciduous.,
Main Wildlife: Elephant, tiger, gaur, sambar, chital, wild
dog, sloth bear, patridge

National Park & National Reserve |
This
is India's southern most Tiger reserve. The sanctuary is undulating
and has a lake. An excellent place for viewing elephants.
Area:
777 Sq Km.,
Best Season: Sep-May (open round the year).,
Forest Type: Moist deciduous,
Main Wildlife: Elephants & some birds.

National Park and Lion Sanctuary |
Only 10% of the park area is forested. This is mainly due to
thousands of cattle grazing the area. The place is hot and humid
during the summer and cool during the winter. It is the home
of the Asiatic Lion.

1409 sq km.,
Best Season: December to April (closed during the monsoon),
Forest Type: Tropical dry deciduous,
Main Wildlife: Asiatic Lion, panther, sambar, four-horned
antelope.

National Park |
The name Kaziranga conjures the imagination of every Indian
and brings into his heart the Rhino. The National Park is
famous for the preservation of the great Indian one-horned
rhinoceros.

: 690 Kms.,
Best Season : Nov - Mar,
Forest Type: Open swamp to grassland, treeswamp to deciduous,
semi-evergreen and evergreen forest.,
Main Wildlife : Great Indian one horned rhino, Wild
buffalo, Elephants, many water birds at Jheels (lakes).
