The distribution of birds over the globe is a fascinating
subject and the reason why some species are so widespread
and others so restricted is a largely a matter of speculation.
The changing physical pattern of the world over geological
periods has much to do with the presence or absence of birds
in various parts of the world. Though most of the Indian species
have no difficulty in crossing the short sea barrier to other
countries. Out of the 8650 species in the world India has
as many as 1200 and so on a and surface of only 4 percent,
it has 16 percent of the total number on the earth. The famous
species of birds in national park of India are the following:
Racquet tailed drogas , tree pies jungle owlets, Minvets ,
Ioras, golden orioles magpie robins, sun birds, Kingfishers,
drogas, mynas pipits and larks, Siberia crane. |

drive to NAL Sarover the famous Bird Sanctuary located 64
km from Ahmedabad. This 116 sq. km. lake to the home to vast
flocks of Indigenous and migratory birds like ducks, geese,
pelicans and Flamingo Are but seen early in the morning and
in the evening. Overnight at tourist Bungalow. |

day view the wild life on Elephant Backs. The famous white
tiger of Rewa was also discovered here. It covers an area
of 104 sq.km. The park Has a fragile ecology of animals like
Nilgai, wild boar, Jackal, beer,Samber and porcupine as well
as more species of birds. Many streams run through the valleys
but only there are perennial including the valleys but only

largest and the central one rising 460 meters above the surrounding
countryside and forms a natural pest. |

drive to Chilka a distance of 130 kms. The lake is famous
for Migratory Birds which flock here in winter. The Shallow
lake is about 70 Km long and 15 km.wide, and is supposedly
one of the largest brackish Water lakes in the country. It
is separated from the sea only by a narrow Sand bar. Overnight
